Each Spring Immanuel Lutheran Church is visited by an annual migration of residents. These visitors come not from the confines of Minnesota,  Illinois  or even Canada these visitors can be called Spring Texans. Most people in the Valley  are familiar with the invasion that starts heading south in October. This second invasion comes North as the Winter Texans begin to trek north.
This second invasion comes from Central America in search of a place to nest and start their families. They are called, Whistling Ducks.  They are a familiar sight to South Texas with their orange bills and black bellies and unusual songs.
